Two of our local residents at the AIC were caught basking in the sun while it was still warm out. The Goldenrod Crab spider and Nordmann's Orbweaver are quite common in the Adirondacks.
Fun facts: Goldenrod Crab spiders have some capacity to change colors from white to yellow depending on the flower it settles in; Orbweavers are named after the orb-shaped webs it weaves and are generally very mellow spiders. Do you have any pictures of spiders to share? We'd love to see them!
